Infra Arcana

Infra Arcana is a traditional roguelike set in the early twentieth century, heavily inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft and B movies. In the game, your objective is to infiltrate the lair of a cult called The Church of Starry Wisdom to steal an artifact known only as The Shining Trapezohedron.

Create your character and dive into the adventure

As is common in the genre, the first thing to do in Infra Arcana is create a character, choosing between several different classes. Choose between War Veteran, Rogue, Occultist, Ghoul, Flagellant and Exorcist. Each class has its own advantages, shortcomings and curiosities. Some classes will start the game with a gun or dynamite, for example, while others will have esoteric books or amulets with which they can perform spells.

An infinite dungeon full of mysteries

Like any good roguelike, Infra Arcana offers players a procedural dungeon generation system. This means that the dungeon layout will change completely with each new game. You will never experience the same adventure twice. Similarly, the enemies and traps you come across throughout each adventure will change radically. In some games you will encounter lots of animals, while in others there will be many cultists or Deep Ones.

Novel progression system

In almost all roguelikes you gain experience and level up by killing enemies. But that is not true of Infra Arcana. In this game you mainly gain experience by exploring. That's what makes stealth such a productive option. Killing enemies will provide no more experience than dodging them without attracting attention. You can become just as powerful by hiding in the shadows until you reach the end of the dungeon as you can by destroying every monster with a shotgun blast.

An outstanding Lovecraftian roguelike

Download Infra Arcana if you like roguelikes and especially if you enjoy the typical Cthulhu Mythos setting. The game offers an incredibly useful interactive tutorial, helping you learn how to play. Press the "?" key at any time to access the command list while you are playing, which comes in very handy considering the great number of actions you can carry out.
