Infra Arcana

Infra Arcana is a traditional roguelike set in the early twentieth century and mainly inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft and B movies. Your objective in the game will be to infiltrate the lair of a cult called The Church of Starry Wisdom to steal an artifact known only as The Shining Trapezohedron.

Create your character and start the adventure

As is usually the case in the genre, the first thing you will have to do in Infra Arcana will be to create a character, choosing between several different classes. You will be able to choose between War Veteran, Thief, Occultist, Ghoul, Flagellant and Exorcist. Each class has its own advantages, shortcomings and peculiarities. Some classes will start the game with a gun or dynamite cartridges, for example, while others will have in their possession esoteric books or amulets with which to perform spells.

An infinite dungeon full of mysteries

As a good roguelike, Infra Arcana has a procedural dungeon generation system. This means that every time you start a new game, the dungeon layout will change completely. You will never live the same adventure twice. Similarly, the enemies and traps you may encounter throughout the adventure will change radically. In some games you will encounter lots of animals, while in others there will be many cultists or deep ones.

A different and original progression system

In almost all roguelikes you gain experience and level up by killing enemies. But that is not the case at Infra Arcana. Here you will gain experience mainly by exploring. For this reason, stealth is also a very viable option. Killing enemies will not give you more experience than dodging them without attracting attention. So you can become just as powerful by hiding in the shadows until the end of the dungeons as you can by destroying all the monsters with a shotgun blast.

An outstanding lovecraftian roguelike

Download Infra Arcana if you like roguelikes and especially if you like the typical Cthulhu Mythos setting. The game also has a very useful interactive tutorial, thanks to which you will be able to learn how to play easily. By pressing the "?" key, you will also be able to access the command list to make any query while you are playing, something very useful considering the large number of actions you can perform.
